BACKGROUND
For my capstone project, I wanted the focus to be something I was the most interested in, which is concerts and live music. Being from Tampa, I know that there are not many music festivals Tampa. The small festivals that do exist however, are mainly EDM and Rock focused. Tampa's demographic is 46.6% Hispanic and African-American, which is almost half of the population. I wanted to create a music festival that would cater to that demographic, featuring notable artists that might not usually visit Florida.

With this project, I wanted to incorporate Tampa's history and culture. Chickens are notably found walking around Ybor city, and I felt it best fit for the festival mascot. The name "Ánimo" is a phrase for excitement and encouragement, which fits the lively nature of the festival perfectly. I was heavily inspired by the Aztec, Spanish, and Caribbean influences that Tampa has, and incorporated those elements within my patterns, colors, and imagery. The headliners I chose represent the wide array of music the festival has to offer, with Doechii being a talented rapper from Tampa herself, Bad Bunny being one of the most famous Puerto Rican musical artist, and Pitbull having a broad appeal with many demographics.
